We will only accept new arrivals in the case of emergency. We are making every effort to get our cats adopted out to good homes to make room for new.

Animal Friends is a no-kill shelter in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. Looking to adopt a furry friend? Stop by and meet some of our animals who are just waiting for a warm lap to snuggle on. We're open for adoptions on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 6 and 8 pm. At this time we are being inundated with calls. If you leave a message on our answering machine, please be patient, we will return your call as soon as possible. We appreciate your call!

Animal Friends is unique in that most of the animals are allowed to roam free throughout our building (which makes for a happy kitty!) except those who are sickly, newborns, or who are not yet adapted to a social environment. We work with the cats who may be wild or frightened in order to adapt them to living in an adoptive home. Most are spayed or neutered and have some necessary vaccinations. You can also click on the Our Kitties link above to view just a handful of our many pets available for adoption. We do occasionally have dogs available, pictures will be posted as we get them.

When you choose a pet from us, you'll know that they have been well taken care of during their stay with us. All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia virus (FeLV) as well as de-wormed, flea-treated, and vaccinated for distemper and rabies. Most (but not all) are spayed or neutered. Because of the cost we incur to keep our orphans healthy, there is a minimal adoption fee for our pets.

Price of adoption is $65 per cat or kitten. Kittens must be spayed or neutered when they become old enough so we request that proof be brought in after the procedure and you will receive a $25 rebate. Our animals become dear to us and it is of the utmost importance that we know that they are in good hands. We keep the cost minimal, but enough to ensure that our animals receive great care. Our fees are extremely reasonable when you consider that a veterinarian will charge around $85 just for the spay/neuter procedure.
